SCENE: Sen. Cantwell’s walking through the Capitol on her way to vote when Ask a Pol’s Matt Laslo quickly catches up with her on cannabis policy.

Matt Laslo: “Separate topic, what do you make of the DEA moving to reschedule marijuana?”

Maria Cantwell: “I think it's good.”

ML: “Are you supportive of SAFER Banking Act?”

MC: “Yes.”

ML: “And clemency [expungements] for past convictions?”

MC: “Which bill?”

ML: “Booker, Wyden, Schumer?”

MC: “Probably for that.”

ML: “Probably?”

MC: “I haven't read it, so...”

ML: “Yeah?”

MC: “I just need to find out what it says.”

ML: “Thank you, ma'am.”
