Ask a Pol asks:

Any updates on a Senate UAP hearing with AARO ?

Key Gillibrand:

“I said I wanted to do it this summer and he said he’d love to do it,” Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand exclusively tells Ask a Pol

ICYMI — Ask a Pol broke news in May

Caught our ear:

“And I told him I wanted him to do video of the things that he’s figured out. Cause like they’ve figured out a bunch of things that looked really weird and now I want to know what they are because it gives the community something to fully understand, to see how strong the science is,” Gillibrand told us.

TRANSCRIPT: Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand

SCENE: Sen. Gillibrand and an aide are walking through the basement of the US Capitol on their way to the Senate floor when Ask a Pol’s Matt Laslo gets a quick — if newsy – update on the hearing she’s planning with AARO.

Kristen Gillibrand: “Okay, what’cha got?”

Matt Laslo: “You got a second?”

KG: “Yeah.”

ML: “Any update on AARO — [Dr. Sean] Kirkpatrick’s interim?”

KG: “Oh no, I haven’t scheduled. I told my staff to schedule it.”

ML: “Cool.”

KG: “He said he’s available to come in.”

ML: “Nice.”

KG: “He’s already finished.”

ML: “So he’s agreed?”

KG: “I said I wanted to do it this summer and he said he’d love to do it.”

ML: “Nice.”

KG: “And I told him I wanted him to do video of the things that he’s figured out. Cause like they’ve figured out a bunch of things that looked really weird and now I want to know what they are because it gives the community something to fully understand, to see how strong the science is.”

ML: “To present to the public basically?”

KG: “To present to the public. So the public can say, ‘If you see these ten weird things, we figured out three of them. We’re gonna show you these three. We still don’t know about seven, but here’s three and this is why we know.’ And this is why better footage is important, it’s why better sensors are important, it’s why we need to do over the horizon radar in a certain way. Because, without data, we can’t assess and not knowing is isn’t acceptable. And so I've asked him and he said yes.”

ML: “Nice.”

KG: “Probably see a date from my staff. Probably July.”

ML: “July, cool.”

KG: “I’m hoping July, and if not then September. But I’m trying to do July.”

ML: “Cool, thank you ma’am.”
