SCENE: Sen. Durbin and his security detail are walking through the basement of the US Capitol when they run into Ask a Pol’s Matt Laslo…

Matt Laslo: “Curious, what are your thoughts on the DEA rescheduling marijuana?”

Dick Durbin: “Something has to give. You can now legally buy marijuana in my hometown [of Chicago] and it’s still viewed as a Schedule I narcotic in this hometown [Washington]. We've got to reconcile these two things.”
