The Food and Drug Administration — FDA — is getting criticized for changing its guidance on marijuana, which could open the door for the Drug Enforcement Administration — or DEA — to reschedule it. Any thoughts on the potential for the DEA to reschedule cannabis?

“You’ve got a problem with all this cash flooding in but not being regulated, so the problem’s there. The question is, how you solve the problem?” Boozman replied. “So I haven’t really delved into that. I’m not being very helpful, am I?”
“No-no. It’s never hit the floor, so you’ve never had to make up your mind,” Ask a Pol replied.

SCENE: Boozman’s slowly making his way to the Senate floor via tunnels underneath the US Capitol so he can vote.
Matt Laslo: “What do you think of the FDA [Food and Drug Administration] kinda rescheduling or changing its data on marijuana? I mean, now it looks like the DEA [Drug Enforcement Administration] might reschedule it or deschedule it.”
John Boozman: “Yeah, yeah. To be honest, I hadn’t thought about it.”
ML: “Hadn’t? That’s not really on your radar? I thought it might be because of FDA.”
JB: “Well, kinda yes and no.”
ML: “Yeah?”
JB: “We’re trying to get the Farm Bill done.”
ML: “Yeah-yeah-yeah.”
JB: “But it is something (inaudible.”
ML: “Yeah. Do you know where you are on SAFER Banking?”
JB: “No, but it’s the same — it’s the same issue. You know, you’ve got a problem with all this cash flooding in but not being regulated, so the problem’s there. The question is, how you solve the problem? So I haven’t really delved into that. I’m not being very helpful, am I?”
